Art as an Experience

I've determined that I'm most interested in the emotional engagement and spiritual experience that art can sometimes achieve. I started to tap into that with my waves video from the post-Ireland show and it's what I'd like to have happen with my element alters but am still lacking. However, i think i may have come up with a way to make it happen...
Its not going to be easy to figure out how to make it work but if i can pull it off it could be pretty awesome. Essentially, I'd be making shrines. Ideally, I'd like to recreate a similar space to the holy well in Ireland but for logistical reasons that might not work in our gallery. Its going to be hard enough to create the scaled back version I've come up with so far. So picture something like those old beach changing tents...stay with me... each "tent" represents an element, and then a 5th tent that's plain white to enter last and reflect in quiet meditation.  now, because they are tents, it will be easier to construct with fabric and plastic tubing plus i can then project on to the walls, video and images much like the wave sculpture from this year's flower show. That's going to be the tricky part, getting the projections to work with the tent so its like you're surrounded by the video... The easier part is the back panel piece which will be the wood or mdf panel that I have planed already with the layers and goddess/angel/icon. It's still going to be a little tricky cause I want to have a shelf or compartments to have memorial objects that also coincide with the elements theme. ie, water might have sea glass and perhaps a fountain...if i can figure out how that would work without being cheesy... fire-candles...or mini lights that look like candles since real fire will probably be a fire hazard...
